Spring Break: Dominican Republic

We headed out of the country again for Spring Break. This year the extended Kirby clan (Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Clif, Aunt Elaine, Logan and Jada) all took a trip together to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. The weather didn't always cooperate as it was quit windy and they head to close the beach for swimming, but we didn't let that get us down. We continued to relax as we hung out by the pool or the beach all day. The kids had a blast getting to play all day with their cousins, Logan and Jada. All the girls got their hair braided and looked like real beach girls. Chet's favorite activity was digging in the sand and he spent all day everyday doing this, he also enjoyed the stories Dad shared about the pirate Captain Morgan. One of the best parts of the trip was the day we spent snorkeling, we saw all kinds of cool sea creatures, including manta rays, eels, puffer fish and giant star fish. The bus ride home from the snorkel trip was fun too, but I don't think Grandpa and I will be drinking anymore rum for some time. Soon it was time to head home and as we arrived at the airport we learned that Chicago had gotten 6 inches of snow the day before, which made us all even more sad to come home.
