This weekend was Chess Fest an annual chess competition for children living in the Champaign area, over 100 kids competed this year. This was Chet's second year competing and although he didn't place in the top 7 he has improved a great deal. Last year he won 1 game, had a draw and lost 3, but this year he won 3 games and lost 2. We are still waiting to hear what his overall rank is and how his school ranked, they didn't have enough time to calculate everything as things were running late as usual. I am very proud of Chet and all his hard work. He is already practicing for the spring competition to be held in April.
