Trip to Indiana

We just got back from a short trip to Indiana. We had a wonderful time. First we headed to the Indianapolis Zoo. The kids loved seeing all the animals especially the dolphin show, but the highlight had to be the new exhibit where you get to pet a shark! After that we headed to Aunt Pegg's house to swim in her pool and meet up with one of Rob's cousins and her family for a cookout. Then it was off to see the fireworks. This year the kids were ready to get closer to the fireworks show, and closer we got. We ended up across the street from where they were being set off, so they literally were going off right over our heads. I think we were a little too close this year, it was particularly frightening when a firework misfired and exploded in the field we were watching from. After all that excitement the kids actually slept in the next day, a rarity in our house. After a leisurely morning we went to visit an old family friend's farm. The kids got to see cows, peacocks, ducks, geese, chickens and of course the traditional farm dog whom Katie fell in love with. We also were able to see tractors, tractors and more tractors, then the kids got to go for a ride on the gator. The rest of the weekend was filled with swimming, eating and a trip to the movies to see Ratatouille. We had a wonderful time visiting Aunt Pegg the kids were sad to leave and are looking forward to our next trip to visit.
