Life of Crime

Yesterday I ran to Walmart with the girls our way to pick up Chet from school. We were in a hurry and I was in a no-nonsense kind of mood, so as we approached the check out I firmly told the girls no candy so don't bother asking. Well they didn't ask. As I was talking with an acquaintance in line they quietly pocketed some candy. I didn't find this out until we were on our way home from gymnastics/tae kwon do when Chet asked Katie where she got the candy. Luckily they hadn't eaten any of it yet, so I promptly drove them back to Walmart to return it while I lectured them about stealing. In addition to having to return it and apologize they can't have candy for a week. This really upset them as Friday is there last day of school and their bus driver promised them a treat.

  1. oh man, that stinks. i remember stealing a little ring from a basket of fake jewelry at a claire's-type place at the mall. my mom found out later that day and made me go into the store to return it and apologize. i think i ran in, tossed the ring into the basket and ran out! not a good feeling!

hope your kleptos are okay now!
